The Flyswatter is a small USB to JTAG in-circuit debugger and programmer designed for ARM cores. It can be used with all ARM processors that are supported by OpenOCD. It connects via USB to the host PC. The Flyswatter is based upon FTDI's popular FT2232 USB UART/FIFO IC. It provides a standard 14-pin JTAG interface as well as a standard RS232 port with support for full modem signals.
The big advantage of owning a good ARM debugging system is that if you're new to the ARM processor and its associated compiler, you can use the debugger to halt execution of example code and study it operation and note what effects the code is having on the ARM hardware.
